Girls State 2022 will be hosted by Longwood University from 19-25 June 2022. Girls State will be conducted on campus this year.

Virginia Girls State is an Americanism program that is sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary. 593 delegates throughout Virginia attended this year’s session (June 16 through June 22) at Longwood University. The delegates spend a week learning how local and state government is run. They formed their own cities, elect their city officials. They also elect a Governor, Lt-Governor and Attorney General for Virginia Girls State.

NOTE: At the regular meeting (2nd Tuesday) in October of the Post and Auxiliary, the Boys and Girls State delegates will be honored with a reception beginning at 7 p.m. The delegates will relate their experiences while attending Boys State or Girls State. Parents are encouraged to attend.
