American Legion Post 290 Christmas Food Basket
Every year, Post 290, in conjunction with the Stafford County Public School system, sponsors a food drive in order to provide holiday meals for those county residents in need of some assistance. Donation boxes are delivered to the schools in November and will be picked up by Post 290 members in mid-December. This year, the boxes will be delivered to the schools on 26 Nov and picked up on 20 Dec. Sorting and packing will take place at the Post Annex on 20-21 Dec and distribution will occur on 22 Dec.
Members of the Post and volunteers sort, organize and prepare food baskets in late December in order to have them available for distribution shortly before the holidays.
If you would like to participate in this program as a volunteer, receive additional information concerning the project, or if you know of any families in need of assistance, please contact our program coordinator, Lani Burnett, firstname.lastname@example.org.
